Seriously...it's June?!?!???

I don't know how we got here but somehow it's almost Summer!! Sawyer "turned 5 months" yesterday and I couldn't believe it. He is still surprising us every day with something new or different. He's loving the pool, he can sit up and he can catch himself when he wobbles in any direction except backward, he's scoot-crawling (backwards, but whatever), he's sleeping SO WELL (like for naptime, I can tell when he's tired, I lay him in his crib, and he falls asleep...nights are still hit or miss, but I'll take what I can get), he has pushed our kitchen table about twelve inches across the room three times now...he'll sit in one of our laps while we're sitting at the table sometimes, and he'll just stick his foot on the side of the table and straighten out his leg, and the table moves. I know it's not that he's really pushing it, he's just straightening out his leg and the table moves because it's lighter than we are, but it still caught me off guard when my food moved. He has these two tiny white bumps on his bottom gums, so those should be a tooth soon! We bought an "entertainer/exersaucer" from a lady in our neighborhood and Sawyer LOVES it. He will sit in that thing and jump like crazy! It's so awesome finding stuff like that that some kid used for maybe a year and now someone else gets to use it (and we only had to pay $20 for it!) We have quite a few toys like that, too...thank you to my aunt Rebecca! There's this one puppy dog thing that sings and talks and tells you his nose, ears, hands, feet, and tummy when you touch them and he loves that thing. He's playing with toys a lot more now, too. He is FINALLY content in his car seat, just in time to have to move up to the bigger one! Yeah, he's also gained like three pounds in the last month. I realize he's a fatty, so please don't think I'm oblivious - I see it. This could be due to his new foods...banana oatmeal, pear and banana rice cereal, sweet potatoes, carrots, bananas, pears, squash, even a little bit of peas, and formula. And no, he doesn't eat all of that in one day, but I will say that he put down a quarter of a cup of rice cereal and an entire little jar of bananas yesterday. Good grief. OH! He can also lay on the floor and hold his bottle on his own, that helps me so much! I can get so much stuff done now! He's also gone up a size in diapers, which he's been in for a couple weeks now, but hey that's exciting, right??? haha :)

Back to the pool - I am so glad he's enjoying himself when we visit the pool. Our neighborhood has a little "toddler pool" with these buckets that dump water out every minute or so, and there's one of those mushroom/umbrella things that water pours out over the top, and some little water fountain towers that spit water out of the sides. It's so much fun, he just sits there on the "beach" (the entrance to the toddler pool...not stairs, but a ramp type of thing with this rubbery stuff covering it so nobody slips or falls and hurts themself) watching the kids run around and he splashes and I think he really likes it. Then he's worn out for the afternoon and it's awesome. We were there for an hour and a half today! Not in the sun the entire time, and yes he wears a little shirt and hat along with his bathing suit...which is so cute. Pat's aunt Trudy got him this little swimming outfit and it is so cute, but we did have to replace the shorts because he's already grown out of them, even though they're a "12m". So we still use the shirt...too cute. Anyway, I'm just glad he's enjoying the water, because I certainly do, so we will definitely be spending some hot summer mornings at the pool!
Also just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who was here for Memorial Day weekend for making the drives they had to make. We had SO much fun and I'm really glad we had it here. I'm not gonna lie - I was a little worried, but it worked out perfectly and I hope we can do it again next year. I don't know what I was worried about, we have a great group of friends and it's always a good time when we're together! I'm glad Sawyer got to meet his future friends' moms and dads, too!! (wink, wink)
Speaking of which - "Shoutout" to Sydney and Will - Congratulations on sweet baby Eli's arrival! She decided to come a little early! Ya'll are definitely in our thoughts!! We love you!
