Mondo Picture Post

Testing out the Johnny Jump Up

Little baby push ups...really just some wriggling around, but hey it looked good.

He loves just being on the floor...what a good boy!

Oops...daddy fell asleep too!

Sawyer was showing Greyson all the different color

Sitting in the high chair for dinner! (With a little help from the AWESOME carrier that my friend Angie got me - omg I love that thing!)

Jeffy - the 30 year old giraffe teether

Playing in the sprinkler at Dennis and Trudy's on the 4th of July (well, it was the 3rd, but whatever)

Doug and Lilli's little shower!

Uncle Greg's best invention - a bottle of bubbles and a fan!

checking out the dock with Daddy

Uncle Greg let him drive!

Guess what happens next...

Paci overboard!! I don't know what he was thinking, but Greg circled back around and Pat scooped it out of the lake.

Georgie the Skipper (she's Doug and Lilli's dog - love her!)

Greyson with one of his shoulders of choice - Uncle Greg

We love the lake!

Everyone hanging out on the deck...thanks to many fans!

So patriotic...oh my gosh

Watching the fireworks with Uncle Dan and Auntie Em

Peek a boo!

Holding his own bottle!

He loves falling asleep in the bean bag

Sawyer and GranTrudy on the boat during our fun visit to their house while Pat was in St. Louis

Starting to sit up!

It has been so humid that I swear there's been a cloud sitting in our cul-de-sac a few times these last couple of weeks. Oh well, we're not scared of a little heat! We're having such a fun and eventful summer! We've had tons of visitors and fun filled weekends. Greyson saw his first fireworks (while Sawyer has still not seen them once...he slept through them last year, and this year we were at Trudy and Dennis's house and he refused to take a nap all day so he was exhausted by the time it got dark, so he was sitting inside with Pat watching - what else - Toy Story...like a baby zombie). Greyson is sitting in the high chair to eat his solid food meals now - and he's looking like he's about ready to try to crawl. He's rolling all over the place and scooting really well, too. Sawyer has become quite the escape artist, so after trying a "baby proof" doorknob cover that he demolished in about 2.4 seconds (yeah, the same one that took me about five minutes to put on), we decided to just turn his doorknob around. That might not be the safest thing in the world, but it works and he doesn't escape from his room in the middle of the night. And don't worry, there is a gate (that's proven on numerous occasions to be almost adult-proof) at the top of the stairs in case he somehow unlocks the door. He can also CATCH a ball now! It was so exciting the first time he did it, which was just last night, but he did it like thirty times! Then just to make sure it wasn't a fluke - I played catch with him again this morning and he did it! Yay! He's also jumping into the pool, just jumping off the floor in the house, he can skip and I just love it, and we recently got him a little tikes basketball goal which he LOVES. Have I told you about the tee ball? Pat's friend, Buddy, got him a tee ball set and he will put the ball on the tee and then knock the crap out of it...most of the time he just hits the tee, but hey the ball falls off. It's just a little too tall for him right now. Even though at his 18 month check up the other day, the doctor said he's as tall as an average 3 year old at 36.5 inches! She said he's above the 99th percentile...I guess they quit dealing with percentages once you reach the 100th...haha. She was also surprised when I told her that he can kick a ball. She said that's not something they're expected to do till they're at least 2, but he's been doing that for quite some time now. Oh we've also started walking Molly in the mornings and he holds her leash and we walk around our culdesac and the one that's just around the corner from ours. Greyson gets a little morning stroll (a very slow one, as we are walking at Sawyer's/Molly's pace) but it's a nice outing and Molly likes it. I think.
We are just waiting for Sawyer to start talking...like in English. He can have a conversation with inflection and I think I've heard him pronounce every letter sound, but he just doesn't put them into words yet. The closest he's come is "Gwa" for Greyson and "gyogyogyo" for yogurt. And when we brush his teeth he'll say "eeeech" when we say "Say cheese" and he'll also do the "aaah" but that's not a word! He knows a TON of words though. I can go through one book with him and ask him to point out fifteen different things on each page and he can do it. Even with colors!! And every time I ask him to count, he'll point to each individual one and make some sort of noise. I count EVERYTHING with him. Gosh he's gonna be the best counter in the history of numbers! haha
I just can't believe how much they've both changed and grown in just the last couple of months. It is crazy. They are such good boys, and I have so much fun with them every day. Most of the time they nap at the same time in the afternoon, but when they don't, I enjoy getting the one-on-one time with each one.

I just realized how abruptly this post ends...I must've gotten carried away with getting the pictures in order. I just know I gave up on it cause Sawyer woke up from his ap. And even as I write this, I'm humming "Simple Man" to Greyson! Where did that easy baby go who fell asleep every night at 9???
