"We are sitting here anchored outside Manila (like we can see the skyline) and we have no idea what is going on…we’re pretty much just sitting and waiting. It’s kinda getting boring.

We managed to get a TV in our room! It’s an old school TV that is really big but it’s better than nothing. We got to see the Vikings play the Packers, which was a big morale booster."

"Here’s an update…it looks like our humanitarian efforts are about done and that we’re going to do what we were planning to do all along in the Philippines anyhow. I thoroughly disagree with that fact and none of us are too excited about it bc 1) we were really excited about the humanitarian thing and didn’t get to do [anything] with it and 2)bc we were preparing for the humanitarian thing and banking on us doing it, no time was spent preparing for the exercise in the Philippines which is going to make everything a cluster. Keep in mind things may (probably will) change again, but I might be getting off of ship as early as the 9^th and not be back on until around the 22^nd."

I've been emailing him but I keep getting automatic emails back that say my emails are still trying to be sent so obviously their email has been down, and they will not be able to receive emails in that time he's talking about from Oct 9-22 when they are off the ship.

In other "news": We're finally through the three digits! There are only 99 days till January 13th! Yay!! :)
